Hi all! It’s been a while since this newsletter last found its way to your inbox. I’ve been making plenty of TTRPG content since then and have some big plans for this year and this newsletter will serve as the place to spotlight all of the coolest stuff we’ve been creating.
Here’s what you can expect from this newsletter, The Twenty Sided Podcast, and My First Dungeon in 2023.
The Twenty Sided Newsletter
BI-MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS: You‘ll now be getting another fantastic newsletter every other week. But who knows! Maybe we will make the jump to weekly!
A FRESH VOICE: TTRPG designer, and my good friend, Elliot Davis is coming on board as co-writer. Elliot is the designer behind Something is Wrong with the Chickens and Abominations and he has plans to release even more great games in 2023. Subscribers to this newsletter will receive his insights about game design and maybe even some sneak previews of his upcoming games.
The Twenty Sided Podcast
A THRILLING CONCLUSION: We will finally conclude the Prisoners of the Static Arc! There are only a few episodes left and the crew of the Gilded Ghost have been just as eager as you to find out how this story ends. Big life events kept on keeping us apart, but now we are BACK, BABY! Once episodes start up again there will be a new episode EVERY WEEK.
My First Dungeon
MONTHLY GAMES: We played a lot of great games last year and we plan on playing even more this year. Starting February, we will produce a new three-part series every month! And as an added bonus we may even return for another adventure in a world we’ve already created…
TTRPG CREATORS: Starting with our Honey Heist series, our new GMs were able to learn the rules from each game’s preeminent expert: the creators themselves! In 2022 we spoke to TTRPG giants like ENnie-Award winners Grant Howitt (Honey Heist, Heart), and Jay Dragon (Wanderhome, Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast) and we plan to continue these invaluable interviews in 2023. Keep an eye out for game announcements on this newsletter. (April 2023 will be a real treat!)
BONUS INTERVIEWS: We also found time to speak with prominent members of the TTRPG community such as Taylor Moore (Rude Tales of Magic, Worlds Beyond Number) and Keith Ammann (The Monsters Know What They’re Doing) and we have already lined up some more great conversations with TTRPG luminaries that we can’t wait to share. Newsletter subscribers can look forward to extended interviews and even more bonus content.
HERE’S TO 2023!
That is a pretty ambitious list, but we are having so much fun playing games that we are just itching for excuses to do more. And as always, the biggest aim of this newsletter is to provide interesting and valuable insights about TTRPGs, game design, and goings-on in the tabletop community. Plus, we’re going to try even more great roleplaying games with as many great players as we can find.
I’m looking forward to all the games we will play and all the stories we will tell.
And remember: If you’re having fun, you’re already doing it right.
