What’s the Table Talking About?
A New Show from Many Sided Media
All of us at Many Sided Media are incredibly excited to announce the launch of our latest show: Talk of the Table!
What is it?
Talk of the Table is a TTRPG talk show where Elliot Davis and Brian Flaherty talk to game designers, actual play performers, journalists, historians, and indie publishers in order to learn what’s on the mind of the tabletop industry.
Why do it?
Our goal with this podcast is to help people learn more about this industry and provide them with resources and useful information for anyone who wants to make their own mark in tabletop.
Alright, I’m interested. Who are your first guests?
Lemme tell you! You can expect to hear conversations with Eric Silver (Join the Party), Dr. Emily Friedman (Auburn University), Samantha Leigh (Anamnesis), Jeff Stormer (Party of One), and Caleb Zane Huett & Sean Ireland (Triangle Agency). And that’s just the first few episodes!
I’m in. Tell me when. Tell me where.
New episodes will be available every other Monday. Talk of the Table is available wherever you get your podcasts.

Project ECCO Physical Release
Bundles! Get your Bundles here!
Physical copies of Project ECCO are officially available at Indie Press Revolution! I am so excited for you to be able to hold this game in your hands.
You can grab the book: a digest-sized 76-page softcover book that will fit beautifully on your shelf among your collection of indie RPGs. Every copy comes with one bookmark character sheet attached to the inside back cover.
OR you can grab the book + planner bundle: The Official Project ECCO Planner is a digest-sized wirebound diary with a full year of spreads for you to fill with your journey through time. It also contains a full-year tracker for a big picture look at your journey and dedicated “ENDGAME” writing space for writing the final lines of your Agent’s journey. Ultimately, my goal for the planner was to make it the best possible tool to play Project ECCO and I think we’ve done just that. It is, in my very biased opinion, the best way to play. With this bundle you also get the book and one bookmark character sheet.
Whether you grab the book or the bundle or stick with the good ole digital release, I can’t thank you enough for supporting this game. I’m so proud of this project and it has been so fulfilling to reach this point.
More stores will be stocking the game in the coming weeks including: Exalted Funeral, ratti incantati, and Peregrine Coast Press. So keep an eye out and support these amazing stores!
But wait! There’s more…

I am pleased to announce that the Project ECCO Original Soundtrack (by yours truly) has been completed and submitted to distribution. This means that in a few short weeks you will start seeing songs from the OST pop up in your favorite music streaming services! The track names and release schedule will go as follows:
8/29 - Project ECCO
9/5 - It Awakens
9/12 - Tempus Cessat
9/19 - In A Dark Void
9/26 - Tempus Itineribus
10/3 - The Final Encounter

Additionally, as a big ol’ thank you to those of you that funded the game on Crowdfundr, you will receive the entire OST on 8/22, one week before the initial release! You’ll be able to redeem a Bandcamp code which will allow you to download the high quality masters of the OST and keep them forever. On the 22nd the OST will also be available for purchase for those of you that didn’t fund the game initially but want early access to the music.
Writing this score was an unbelievably exciting and gratifying experience. I have always been a fan of eldritch horror, and designing sounds to fit the mood of the game was something I looked forward to before every writing and recording session. The score is heavily inspired by the works of Disasterpeace (It Follows), Nine Inch Nails, Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow (Annihilation), and Ben Frost (1899).
There were a number of things I wanted to accomplish with this score, the first being that I wanted the listener to feel like they were really being hunted (and maybe consumed) by The Entity, both through composition but also sound design. I tossed a bunch of ideas around, but eventually settled on what I feel is the most intense part of the score, which comes about halfway through ‘The Final Encounter’.
In going back and forth with Elliot about the score, he sent me a note asking if I thought that that particular section of the song was too scary, at which point I knew I had nailed what I was going for.
The second goal was to make it feel like a movie score. When you’re writing a score for film (or podcasts), there are certain limitations you have–namely, dialog has to still be audible over the music. This is one of the reasons why there aren't a ton of melodic instruments or lyrics in most movie scores. It gives a bed for the dialog to sit on top of, without clouding the words being said by the actors. Obviously this sound track doesn’t have that exact same limitation, so I aimed for it to feel like something between a song by a band/artist, and something played in the background of a horror movie. The main way I accomplished this goal was in using leitmotifs–little melodic and sonic elements that represent different characters and themes within the narrative. Now I don’t want to spoil the fun of listening to the score, so I won’t give any specifics, but Elliot and I settled on a number of different “characters” that would be represented by different sounds, and I had a few repeated melodies that I hid throughout the score that give it the John Williams (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park) feeling.
Ultimately, I am extremely proud of this project. Watching this grow from an idea that Elliot brought up while we played some games to a real life book and planner has been so gratifying. And being able to play my small part in that process was a joy.
I cannot wait for you to hear this score and I cannot wait to hear all the crazy stories it will inspire in you.
And as always, don’t forget your coin.
Talk of The Table sounds fantastic. Just downloaded the first episode!
Woohoo!!!
